The biggest headache, whether you run a small startup or a big corporation, has always been documentation. Once the organisational knowledge grows beyond what can be held in everyone’s head at any time, the need for documentation starts, and inevitably fails.
The biggest value AI might bring is that documentation is now free. Every meeting can now be transcribed, every Slack chat structured, every email noted down. Your code base is searchable by anyone and explained in a meaningful way.
YC is framing this as “Organisational AI brain” which sounds more investable than “Extensive, searchable documentation”.
This note is a living document and will keep changing. It's not an article. It's a notebook page I'm letting you read over my shoulder. If you spot something I'm wrong about, or if you've worked through the same thing differently, reply to henrik@holenventures.com.
